Different states have different laws about obtaining certain clearances before you can work with children. For example, Pennsylvania has a law called PA Act 153 that states that all individuals over the age of 14 must obtain three different clearances before they are able to work with children.
First, check with your state athletic training organization to see if athletic trainers are required to undergo background screenings in your state.
Second, since many of the organizations that hire ATs through Go4Ellis are schools, you should also understand any extra background check documentation beyond the requirements of state law that schools in your state might seek to have on file before hiring you.
